Protecting Yourself Against Cybersecurity Risks While Working From Home

Cybersecurity might be tight at the office, but with millions working from home, some of those cyber safety nets aren’t as strong.

Hosts Scott Abel, The Content Wrangler, and Patrick Bosek, Co-Founder & CEO at Jorsek, makers of easyDITA, sit down for some coffee and a chat with cybersecurity expert MK Palmore.

When people are working at their offices, cybersecurity isn’t usually the first thing you’re thinking about. Now that COVID-19 has forced millions of workers to continue their jobs from the home offices, couches, and kitchen tables, your home WiFi network is an easier target for malicious attacks than a company firewall.

There are countless variables that make working from home a great cybersecurity risk, but MK Palmore is here to discuss some do’s and don’ts, share security tips, and make sure that your in-home technical security is up to snuff.

MK Palmore was born and raised in Washington, D.C.  It’s no surprise he was influenced daily and at an early age by the formative sights and sounds of our government at work.  As a youth, he had already decided to embark on a career of service. This led him to the shores of Annapolis, where he was a midshipman at the United States Naval Academy, and afterward as a commissioned officer in the United States Marine Corps.

Following his military service, MK began a 22-year journey as a Special Agent of the

Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), a key player behind numerous high-level investigations and an early combatant in the fight against cybercrime.
